An old bottling of 1966 Glen Grant Speyside single malt whisky released in 2012 at around 45 years old by Gordon & MacPhail under their Distillery Labels series of licensed bottlings. Gordon & MacPhail have released several extraordinary 1966 vintage Glen Grants from 2006 onwards, with the most recent at the time of writing being 2020s remarkable Private Collection edition.
This Distillery Labels 1966 Glen Grant from 2012 is reputed to have been assembled from a small batch of refill American hogshead casks vatted with a first fill sherry butt and is an absolute honey bomb, full of crystallised fruits, greengages, fresh tropical notes, buttered cereal notes, camphor and gently aromatic wood spices. Glen Grant 1966-2012 is another brilliant ancient masterpiece from the vaults at Gordon & MacPhail.
