Ardbeg 1990-2008 Airigh Nam Beist
Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Distillery Bottling 70cl / 46%
An old bottle of Ardbeg 1990 Airigh Nam Beist islay single malt whisky. Airigh Nam Beist (pronounced `arry-nam-bayst`), which in Gaelic means 'shelter of the beast', apparently. This is the 2008 18-year-old edition and it is a spectacular whisky, the epitome of that unique early 1990s Ardbeg style.
Matured in ex-bourbon casks, the Ardbeg Airigh Nam Beist bottlings were a run of three consecutive 1990 vintages that Ardbeg released between 2006-2008 and are widely considered to be the distillery's last grasp at greatness before the aged stocks were all but dried up.
