Aberfeldy 25 Year Old Early 2000s
Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Distillery Bottling 70cl / 40%
A lovely old edition of Aberfeldy 25-year-old Highland single malt whisky bottled around 2003 during an interesting time for the distillery, which had been sold to Bacardi as part of the Dewar's company in the deal that created Diageo in 1998. The single malt in this bottle would have been distilled at Aberfeldy in the mid to late 1970s.
Aberfeldy's whisky was so important to the Dewar's blend that Diageo had never bothered much with official bottlings other than a handful of Flora & Fauna editions. Bacardi changed things up, with this release a sign of their ambitions for the distillery. This short-lived 25-year-old Aberfeldy was a limited edition of just 150 bottles, and was replaced in the range shortly afterwards by the new Aberfeldy 21-year-old.
